Laying a Strong Foundation in Our Second Term

          St Francis Senior School Kakooge: 

St Francis Senior School Kakooge is officially in motion. Now in its second term of its very first year since opening in 2026, this newly formulated and regulated Catholic school is already making its mark with 100 learners engaged in Senior One and Two.

This term’s mentoring program was led by URS PERFORMERS INITIATIVE,SHE LEARNS and TREASURE PATH, working alongside the school to build things right from the ground up. Together, we focused on preparing young people for the journey ahead - not just academically, but in life.We focused the interaction on;

1.Navigating the New Academic Journey 

  Stepping into Senior One and Two comes with fresh challenges. We sat down with learners to talk about the new level of academic expectations, the hurdles they’re likely to face, and practical ways to manage their time, studies, and mindset. The goal: equip them early so they don’t just survive secondary school, they thrive in it.

2.Vigilance in a Mixed Community 

   Kakooge is home to all kinds of people - some who will lift you up, and others who might lead you astray. Through out our  sessions, students had honest conversations about staying vigilant, choosing the right influences, and recognizing that the community around them can either be a pillar for their academic journey or a distraction. Wisdom starts with knowing the difference.

3.Health, Hygiene, and Growing Up

  We led a health and hygiene talk centered on a simple but powerful message: growth is normal and natural. Learners were encouraged to embrace the changes happening in their bodies without shame, and to practice good hygiene as part of self-respect and confidence.

4.Building Confidence Through Socialization as School isn’t just books.

We mentored students on socialization - how interacting positively with peers and teachers builds self-confidence, communication skills, and the kind of relationships that carry you through tough times.

5.Ambition: Trusting in Your Capabilities   

     Finally, URS PERFORMERS INITIATIVE challenged each learner to set ambitions and to trust in their own capabilities. If you don’t believe you can, you won’t try. If you do, you’ll be surprised what 100 determined Senior One and Two students can achieve.

St Francis Senior School Kakooge is more than a new school. It’s a Catholic foundation built on mentoring, discipline, and faith in the next generation. With partners like URS PERFORMERS INITIATIVE,SHE LEARNS ORGANIZATION and TREASURE PATHwalking alongside, term two has shown what’s possible when young people are guided with care.

      In a crowded hall filled with the vibrant red and blue uniforms of  Zana Mixed Secondary School , a powerful silence fell as we spoke on a truth often ignored in the rush of youth: you cannot follow every path and expect to reach a destination. The  URS Performers Initiative  brought a message of radical focus to these learners, centered on the life-altering theme,  "Know Your Worth."       Knowing your worth starts with the discipline of  prioritization . We challenged the students to look at their many interests sports, social life, hobbies, and academics and recognize that while every desire feels urgent, not all are equal.  MIND SET DEVELOPMENT AT BULAMU SEED SECONDARY SCHOOL 2026 Our next stop took us to Bulamu Seed Secondary School in Bulamu Village, where we spent the day mentoring learners on something just as important as academics: how to manage their minds and navigate life. 1.
